Sorry, I’ve gone to India…

Namaste bitches, guess who’s back?

It’s been quite some time since me and the Internet had a domestic fight about how to use WordPress, how to customise a blog, and if it is worth the hassle of writing for them (the Internet and its readers) or if my words are better in my head, in my journal, and spoken out to those I’m surrounded by.

After careful deliberation and multiple head aches, the Internet won… (Nothing new there, am I right?).

So here I am, a new name, a new country, the same silly me.

But where have I been the past almost year you ask?        Hibernating in a wee country town by the ocean in the south-west of WA, perhaps you know it, it’s called Margaret River. I lived in Margaret river from April 2015 to February 2016, saving cash, baking banana bread, and swimming in Australia’s vibrant sea.

It was in Margaret river where I met a spectacular man who goes by the name of Zac.

Zac took me by surprise. My head full of hope for a new life, with new prospects in a town I knew no-one and planned to focus on myself, I set out right away looking for work. My second day in Margaret River I skipped into a darling little cafe to ask if they had any vacancies for staff, I exited with way more than I bargained for. Behind the coffee machine stood Zac, in my eyes, an absolute babe. A cheeky grin here, a sly slide of my phone number on a napkin into his hand there, and the rest as they say is history.

Zac and I soon decided that we wanted to travel together. With minds alike and differences understood, we took the plunge and booked a one way ticket to India. We like to think of this trip as “India and beyond”.

Our aim is to travel an extended period of time, whilst conserving our money as best we can. Our main countries of interest right now are India, Nepal, Laos, Vietnam, North America (Hawaii inparticular), and Canada. Though this is subject to change from day to day, as new ideas continue to pop into our head.

We are currently averaging $100AUD a week each in India. We have been in India for around 6 weeks now, we have 4 and a half months to go till our visa expires here and we move on to Nepal.

Some of you may remember my blogs original name “1waytowanderlust” from my last 8 months of travel. Whilst 1waytowanderlust was a great outlet of expression for me, I wanted this time, to tap into something more personal. And so Natalie The Nudie was created. It has all my old blog posts from my travels in 2014-2015, but Natalie The Nudie will be more than just travel. I may go from writing a blog post on cultural differences in India, to why giving up sugar can change your life. It will cover all the great loves of my life, health, food, travel, yoga, humans and collective conciousness. I suppose you could call it a “Lifestyle” blog.

As for the name I have chosen, anyone who knows me personally will understand my love for nudity. In all its natural, raw beauty that has nothing to do with promiscuity, being naked is another great love I have. So if you wanted an explanation for that, there it is.

So there you have it, I’m back in full form, currently writing of my iPod as this is my only means of technology. Keeping that in mind, and also the fact that I am in India where wifi may not always be available, keeping this blog up to date may be difficult. Follow me on this journey and see what pops up from time to time.

As for right now, the sun is setting over the blue city of Johdpur. My boyfriend is sitting next to me reading his book and I am getting excited to stick my hands into some curry for dinner.

That’s it for now, more to come! Chapathis and lassi’s are calling my name.

Goodnight from Rajasthan.

FYI, our mapping route of India so far is as follows;

  • Kerala – Kovalam beach, Varkala, Allepey, Munnar.
  • Tamil Nadu – Kodaikanal, Ooty.
  • Karnataka – Mysore, Shravanabelagola, Bangalore.
  • Rajasthan – Jaipur, Pushkar, Jaiselmer, currently in Jodhpur.
